HISTORY

The U3A was founded in Britain more than 20 years ago; currently there are 560 U3As with nearly 150 000 members. Each U3A is democratic, autonomous and self managed and aims to provide education and leisure facilities for men and women who are no longer in full-time employment. Drawing on the knowledge, skills and experience of its members, self-help groups are organised in such diverse fields as art, foreign languages, music, history, sciences, literature and poetry, digital photography, crafts and computing.
In addition to the self help groups there are general meetings to which all members are invited.

By joining the Mayfield and District U3A you will become a member of a dynamic forward-looking organisation. The annual subscription is £12 per person and £20 for two people at the same address.
